Low-Level Android Engineer – Android OS & HAL, Linux – Tampere
Our client is a Finnish technology company that specializes in real-time decision-making applications for vehicles, cars, and industry. Their technology combines sensor data with artificial intelligence to enable real-time steering of devices and processes. They are one of the fastest growing technology companies in Finland.
At the moment they are looking for experienced Embedded SW Engineer to strengthen their team in Tampere. You would start your journey in one of their most interesting and challenging projects with the role covering the following aspects:
Building and prototyping a virtualization solution targeted at embedded Linux environments for edge type devices (phones, tablets, laptops, etc).
Leveraging and contributing to open source projects to explore the feasibility of the creation of such virtualization solutions.
The software professional we are looking for should be comfortable with at least some of the following:
Experience with Android OS frameworks, development and debugging
Experience with Android HAL integration & debugging with devices
Experience with Linux Embedded systems (i.e. on ARM, x86, etc) setup and maintaining
Experience with ARM or x86 architecture build environment (board bring up, debugging, linux on top, etc)
Experiences with Android or Linux network or modem device drivers
Experience or interest in virtualization technologies and approaches
A keen and open communicator across teams, borders and technology areas
Fluent English
If not all of the above are familiar, but embedded Linux environments and integration with Android sounds appealing, then an aptitude for self-initiated research, motivation for low-level embedded development and prototyping should not be underestimated or under-valued.
