Data Engineer – Cloud & Infrastructure Focus
Sibling is recruiting for a leading international food production company, we’re seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the growing data team and help advance data capabilities across the organization.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize robust data infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure data sources and associated datasets are actionable, reliable, and well-maintained, working closely with both local and global teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a subject matter expert for cloud-based platforms in collaboration with a wider engineering team
Apply holistic thinking to data architecture and modeling concepts
Optimize and manage scalable data storage solutions
Design, develop, and maintain pipelines connecting various data sources to a centralized Lakehouse architecture
Implement proactive monitoring and troubleshooting for high-quality, reliable datasets
Automate and streamline data movement across systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, PIM), ensuring accessibility for analytics, reporting, and activation
Partner with data analysts to uphold data quality and accessibility
Maintain compliance with data security and regulatory requirements
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
Proven experience as a Data Engineer (5+ years in a BI environment)
Proficient in SQL and database management
Hands-on experience with data modeling (e.g., dbt), Python scripting, orchestration, and API integrations
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure)
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Background working in IT and within Agile methodologies
Proficiency in Dutch and English (French is a plus)
