Embedded Software Application Engineer
Location: Gothenburg, Sweden (On-site)
12+ months contract – with possibility to extend
Our client is a leading automotive company with a Global presence. They are currently looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their diverse and dynamic team.
Responsibilities:
• Perform all stages of embedded software development, including requirement breakdown, design, documentation, implementation, testing, and verification.
• Specialize in a technical domain relevant to the automotive industry (e.g., Vehicle, HMI, Powertrain Control, Diagnostics).
• Lead system engineering within a technical team, actively contributing to project delivery and integration.
• Develop technical roadmaps and share knowledge through mentorship and coaching.
• Ensure software quality and readiness before release.
• Network across the organization to stay informed and influence related work.
• Contribute to business development through technical innovation.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in embedded software application development.
• Experience working in an agile development environment (Scrum preferred).
• Proficiency in embedded C for core logic development.
• Experience with C++ and Qt for HMI visualization.
• Familiarity with AUTOSAR, Linux/Yocto, SOME-IP protocols is a plus.
• Experience with communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and Ethernet.
• Experience with continuous integration and automatic regression testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
