Project Engineer
Location: Memphis, TN (on-site) Type: Permanent / Full-time Sector: Manufacturing — Consumer Products Salary: $110,000 – $135,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits
Sibling is partnering with a well-established consumer-products manufacturer in the Memphis area to appoint a Project Engineer. This is a hands-on role for an engineer who wants to own capital projects end to end and drive real improvement across a busy plant — with genuine scope to grow toward technical and site leadership over time.
You’ll lead engineering and process-improvement projects from concept through execution, working shoulder to shoulder with manufacturing, maintenance, quality, supply chain and packaging development, and playing an active part in new-product teams.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead engineering and process-improvement projects from scope development through delivery
- Own capital projects through the full lifecycle — scoping, cost estimation, and the CapEx approval process
- Build detailed project schedules, resource plans and budgets, and keep projects on time and on cost
- Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshooting through implementation and commissioning
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications and documentation
- Drive continuous improvement — analyse performance data (cycle time, defect rates), develop KPIs and dashboards, and embed best practice and SOPs so gains stick
- Identify project risks and put mitigation in place; ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental and regulatory standards
- Report progress to stakeholders and keep cross-functional teams aligned
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical)
- 5+ years in project engineering or manufacturing
- Strong project-management skills — developing scope and implementing changes in plants or processes
- Solid technical problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
- Proficiency with CAD, and with project-management / data-analysis tools (e.g. MS Project, Excel, Minitab)
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable partnering with cross-functional teams and across all levels of the organisation
- Willingness to travel up to ~20% as projects require
Why this role
- A dedicated capital-projects remit with the autonomy to make it your own
- A clear path to grow toward technical/site leadership
- On-site in the Memphis area — no relocation for local candidates
- Permanent, W2, with a competitive package and a visible seat on new-product and plant-improvement teams
