Test Automation Engineer – Embedded & Power Systems (Helsinki)

Location: Helsinki (Hybrid / Remote options)
Contract or Permanent: Open depending on profile
Start: ASAP

We’re hiring a Test Automation Engineer to join an engineering team building and validating embedded systems used in industrial three-phase power / energy management products.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working close to real hardware, not just software-only testing.

What you’ll do

  • Build and maintain automated test solutions using Python + Robot Framework

  • Develop reusable test libraries for embedded systems + hardware interfaces

  • Run automated / semi-automated tests on embedded devices, simulators, and HIL setups

  • Validate logic around measurement, control, protection (industrial power systems)

  • Investigate failures, analyse results, raise clear defect reports

  • Support improvements to coverage, reliability, and execution time

  • Contribute to CI/CD-driven testing where applicable

Must-have experience

  • Strong Python test automation background

  • Hands-on with Robot Framework

  • Embedded testing experience (bare-metal or embedded Linux)

  • Understanding of hardware/software interaction

  • Exposure to industrial protocols: CAN / Modbus / Ethernet (or similar)

Highly valued

  • Experience with three-phase power systems or industrial power equipment

  • Testing power electronics / inverters / drives / protection relays

  • HIL testing

  • Safety-critical / regulated environments
