SCADA Developer (Ignition)

Location: Multiple US offices — nationwide (Hybrid) Type: Permanent, full-time Compensation (based on level, experience & location):

Engineer Level II–III (3–5 years’ experience): $95,000–$115,000
Engineer Level III & above (5–10 years’ experience): $115,000–$165,000+

Plus performance bonus and benefits. Travel: Up to 20%

The opportunity

Sibling is partnering with a leading engineering consultancy and award-winning Ignition integrator to hire an experienced SCADA Developer. Our client is a nationally recognised Ignition Premier Partner with a rapidly growing SCADA & MES practice, delivering enterprise-scale automation and data solutions across industries from aerospace to consumer packaged goods to healthcare.

This is a hands-on role for a developer with deep Ignition expertise and strong systems thinking — someone who enjoys designing scalable solutions and owning projects from concept through commissioning. You’ll work on technically demanding, enterprise-scale deployments that genuinely push the platform, within a collaborative team that values both independent ownership and teamwork.

What you’ll do

Design, develop and deploy industrial SCADA and automation systems across a variety of industries.
Build scalable, maintainable solutions that integrate with PLCs, data historians and enterprise systems.
Develop and configure Ignition-based applications and architectures.
Apply strong systems thinking to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.
Contribute across the full project lifecycle — concept, design, implementation, testing and commissioning.
Mentor and support early-career engineers.

What we’re looking for

3+ years’ relevant experience in industrial automation / SCADA.
Hands-on experience with Ignition or a comparable SCADA platform.
Strong understanding of PLC systems and industrial communication protocols (e.g. EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC UA).
Proven ability to design and deploy SCADA systems — architecture, scripting and enterprise implementations.
Experience integrating SCADA with databases (e.g. SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and enterprise applications.
Solid programming skills, including object-oriented concepts and text-based languages.
A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer or related), or equivalent demonstrable experience. A strong academic record is valued.
Strong communication, client-facing and time-management skills, with the ability to run multiple projects.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
